Khachaturian: MASQUERADE

Masquerade is a rarity among Khachaturian’s celebrated ballets. The score was originally conceived as incidental music for a 1941 production of Mikhail Lermontov’s play of the same name, and the popular Masquerade orchestral suite has had a life of its own on concert stages. 1985 production is performed by Soloists, Corps de ballet, Orchestra and Chorus of the Alexander Spendaryan State Academy Opera and Ballet Theatre; Hakob Ter-Voskanian, conductor.
